When the Daniel’s Grace Foundation first started out, we were in desperate need of donations to help out families in need of financial assistance after they have been diagnosed with cancer. A good friend of mine, Brady, owned Steinhilber’s, and he let us host our event there. My dream for this event was to take place on a beautiful fall day outside. Once we began to set up everything, the sky turned dark and it wasn’t looking promising that we were going to be able to have this event outside. We didn’t have a tent, so if it rained, my vision would have been crushed. When I finally came to the realization that it was not going to be possible to have the roast outside, we began to move everything inside. As we began transitioning everything inside, the skies cleared and the sun was shining. It was God’s message to us that we needed to have this event outside, and that we did. We raised $32k with only 50 guests, and it was a memory I will never forget.
At the 2018 Roast on the River, we raised $200k with 500 people. We have come a long way since the start, and we are so grateful for all of the amazing people we have met throughout this process and the generous donations that continue to keep our mission alive.
